Operations
The Operations Department is responsible for maintaining many of the essential services and public spaces that residents rely on every day. From roads, parks, and water systems to snow removal, drainage infrastructure, and public facilities, the department works year-round to keep the community safe, functional, and well-maintained.
Operations oversees a wide range of municipal services, including:
Roads and streets
Water distribution and treatment
Wastewater collection and treatment
Drainage and stormwater systems
Parks, trails, and public green spaces
Irrigation systems
Sanitation services
Municipal buildings and facilities
Fleet vehicles and equipment maintenance
Whether responding to weather events, maintaining critical infrastructure, caring for parks and public spaces, or supporting community events, Operations staff play an important role in delivering the services that help keep Hope running smoothly.
Based out of the Nelson Street Works Yard, the department works closely with Engineering and other District departments to support current operations, infrastructure improvements, and the long-term needs of the community.
