The District of Hope Fire Department provides emergency response, fire prevention, public education, wildfire preparedness, and emergency management services to the community and surrounding areas, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

In 2025, the department responded to a record 841 emergency incidents, making it the busiest operational year in department history. Services are delivered by dedicated career and Paid-on-Call firefighters committed to protecting life, property, and the environment.

Formed through the amalgamation of the Hope, Kawkawa Lake, and Flood/Laidlaw/Silver Creek fire departments, the department proudly serves residents through a combination of career leadership staff and dedicated Paid-on-Call firefighters. Today, the department operates from three fire halls and responds to a wide range of emergencies, including structure fires, medical incidents, motor vehicle incidents, rescue calls, hazardous conditions, wildfire responses, and public safety incidents.

In addition to emergency response, the Fire Department plays a key role in community preparedness through fire inspections, fire prevention education, FireSmart initiatives, emergency planning, and emergency support services. The department works closely with local, regional, provincial, and First Nation partners to strengthen community resilience and ensure readiness for emergencies and disasters.

The District of Hope Fire Department is committed to protecting life, property, and the environment through professional service, continuous training, public education, and a strong culture of safety.
