Complaints & Reviews
If you are dissatisfied with the District's response to your Freedom of Information request, you may request a review of the decision. We encourage applicants to contact the District first to discuss their concerns, as many issues can be resolved more quickly through direct communication.
If a resolution cannot be reached, you may apply to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia (OIPC) for an independent review. Requests for review must generally be submitted within 30 days of receiving the District's response.
When requesting a review, you should provide:
Your name, mailing address, and telephone number
The file number assigned to your FOI request
The type of request or complaint being reviewed (e.g., access request, correction request, fee complaint, or time limit complaint)
A copy of the District's decision or response
The reasons or grounds for requesting the review
For more information about the review process, please contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
