About FIPPA
The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) helps ensure transparency, accountability, and the protection of personal information within public bodies, including local governments. The Act provides individuals with the right to request access to records held by the District, subject to limited exceptions established by legislation.
FIPPA also protects personal privacy by governing how personal information may be collected, used, stored, and disclosed. In addition, individuals have the right to access their own personal information and request corrections if they believe the information is inaccurate or incomplete.
